Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
Services: In-Person and Telehealth
Specialties: Ages 18+, Individual Counseling
Supervisor: Dr. Jackie Dehner
Allison Goodwin is a Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Narrative Healing Therapy who works with adults navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, identity, life transitions, grief, and the impact of difficult experiences. Her work is grounded in person-centered and narrative approaches, with a strong interest in understanding how past experiences, relationships, and long-standing patterns shape the way people see themselves and move through the world.
Allison takes a warm, relational, and reflective approach to counseling, creating space for clients to slow down, explore what they are carrying, and make sense of the thoughts, emotions, and patterns showing up in their lives. She believes counseling can be a place for honest conversations, curiosity, and deeper self-understanding rather than pressure to have everything figured out right away.
She is especially interested in working with individuals navigating anxiety, boundaries, people-pleasing, self-esteem, identity, family and relationship dynamics, and major life transitions. Allison also has a growing interest in trauma-informed care, grief, and religious trauma.
Allison is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand View University and provides counseling under the supervision of Jackie Dehner. She also has experience co-facilitating an adult grief support group through Amanda the Panda.
At the heart of Allison’s work is a belief that people deserve space to be heard, understood, and supported as they explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change.
